Accepted Hi Resolution Image Requirements

•Images not adhering to these criteria may be rejected from submission.

File size  - 3200 pixels minimum, on the longest edge

Color Space - Adobe RGB 98. Do not save to sRGB

Resolution - 300ppi

Sharpening  - Apply suitable sharpening. Do not oversharpen.

File Type - JPEG - highest quality jpg, Level 12

Image Mode - 8 Bits per channel

Fully Processed - Cropped, Color Corrected, Cleaned and Flattened

No Extraneous Data - No extra Layers or Channels

Captions (Description Field) – must be applied as described below

File Size

• Must be at least 3200 pixels on the longest edge.

Color Space

• Adobe RGB 98 is the accepted standard for distribution to our image partners. Please understand that sRGB is a colour space for use on monitors, printers, and the web. Once an image is saved to sRGB valuable color information for quality print output is permanently discarded and does not reappear if the file is reconverted back to Adobe RGB 98. Do not save to sRGB.

Resolution

• 300ppi

Sharpening

Apply suitable sharpening. Do not to oversharpen. Excessive sharpening tends to separate grain, causing it to look artificial and broken up. Sharpening can also cause noise and distortion when used to extreme levels and produce speckling and mottling (and despeckling filters will not solve this problem).

Keep in mind that repro houses will sharpen at a later stage for optimum print, especially when producing large displays or posters.

File Type

• JPEG - highest quality jpg, Level 12 (note that actual file size will now be far less than the uncompressed 48MB file and sizes vary greatly depending upon the complexity) Ideally all file prep is done by you first in raw or tiff and the last move is to save as JPEG - highest quality jpg, Level 1

Image Mode

• 8 Bits per channel. Images may be worked on in 16 bits per channel, bur please save as 8 bits per channel

Images intended for professional printing via a fully color-managed workflow, e.g. prepress output, use another color space such as Pro Photo or Adobe RGB (1998), which allows for a wider gamut.

Fully Processed

Cropped, Color Corrected, Cleaned and Flattened

• No Extraneous Data

• No extra Layers or Channels, Paths, Guides, Color Sampler

Points
