| Caption | : | A family nears the bottom of thrilling and icy toboggan run (les Glissades de la Terrasse) on the Dufferin Terrace (Terrasse Dufferin) in the Historic District of Old Quebec, Quebec, Canada - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Terrace was built in 1878 and named for Lord Dufferin - Canada´s third Govenor General (1872-1878). The toboggan slide is 82 meters above the terrace at the summit and 150 meters long. On cold days the run is so icy and fast that tobogganers might shoot right off the slide´s end before coming to a stop on the strategically placed gravel. |
